The StudHorse Bracket
Easy Single-Step Installation
The StudHorse: an engineered, high-impact resistant bracket that fits into standard 3-5/8″ steel wall top track. Holds fire sprinkler line pipes securely in the place inside walls. It works in conjunction with industry-standard swivel ring hangers. The StudHorse bracket snaps into place in one easy step.
Reduce Electrical Conduit Confusion
The most common issue during installation occurs when electrical conduit has to pass by the sprinkler pipe. The current hanger method allows for too much side to side movement of the sprinkler line pipe. In a space only 3-5/8” wide, the sprinkler pipe is always pushed to one side or another, which affects the depth of the sidewall sprinkler heads.
Significantly Reduces Return Work
Return trips to rework a system that has already been completed can be frustrating, costly, and messy. Use of the Studhorse ensures semi-recessed sidewall sprinkler heads are set at the proper depth in walls. This is accomplished by locking 1″ pipe dead center of the wall. The 1-1/4″ pipe is locked in at a 3/8″ offset from center of the wall. Both pipe sizes are held a center line of 5″ below deck. After the Stud Horse has been locked into position, fitters can be confident that their work will remain intact.
Eliminate The Need For Brass Head Extensions
In almost every scenario, the need for brass head extensions is eliminated. Over the course of a high rise job, hundreds of extensions could be used, and eliminating this cost will save money.
